The WSBCA has been able to generate quite a few events in the past, despite our young age. We are always striving to bring fun and informative gatherings to our community in order to help bring us closer together.
Some of the events have been hugely successful year after year, such as the Tree Lighting event. Unfortunately, some had become a victim of their success, such as the Easter Egg hunt, when in 2006 the event proved too popular for the amount of volunteer staffing needed to manage it.
And some we hope to bring back after a brief hiatus, like the Chinese New Year Celebration, and the Town Hall Meeting.
What all of these events have in common is a desire to bring to Warm Springs the kinds of events that have the ability to unite us, draw us closer as a community and neighborhood, and celebrate our heritage and diversity. Another thing these events have in common is they are all the result of a tremendous amount of volunteerism.
Organizations like the WSBCA are all volunteer run, by people who truly have a desire to help the community at large. And we could use more of them. It's the individuals who make up the leadership and core volunteer membership for groups like ours that shape an organization, and ultimately are responsible for their character, continued success, or ultimate demise.
So if you have ever attended one of our events, and see a benefit to continuing and expanding the role of the WSBCA for our common good, please consider becoming a member, and volunteering to help us shape our future. Your community is counting on it.
